Lies (The Drum)

Following the popularity of Fight Night, Lies is the latest interactive show from the internationally acclaimed Ontroerend Goed. This marks out tenth co-production with them, one of the most dynamic, innovative and exciting theatre companies in the world.

Ninagawa Macbeth (The Lyric)
13 & 14 October 2017

Ninagawa Macbeth was first seen in the UK at the Edinburgh International Festival in 1985.The production has since become to be recognised as an epoch-making piece and Ninagawa himself as a word-class director. The celebrated leading actor Masachika Ichimura plays the title role and he is joined by Yuko Tanaka as Lady Macbeth.

Grease (The Lyric)
30 October – 4 November 2017

The award-winning production of Grease will be returning to Theatre Royal Plymouth starring The Wanted’s Tom Parker, Over The Rainbow winner Danielle Hope and Eastenders’ Lousia Lytton. Grease is the ultimate feel-good, pick-me-up musical - an electrifying extravaganza, packed with fun, energy and vibrant physicality.

Birmingham Royal Ballet – Aladdin (The Lyric)
25 – 28 October 2017

Created for the National Ballet of Japan in 2008 and re-created in Birmingham, Aladdin is aimed at a family audience. The ballet is a large and spectacular production, designed for touring, and complete with a host of technical tricks, including a flying carpet. David Bintley looks back to the original tale, taking Persian and Far-Eastern influences, to create a fast-paced and modern balletic version of this well-known story.

Hairspray (The Lyric)
15 – 20 January 2018

The big, bold and beautiful production of Hairspray will return to Theatre Royal Plymouth in 2018 following a successful tour in 2015/2016. Star casting to be announced.

Welsh National Opera (The Lyric)
27 – 31 March 2018

The Spring season, will mark the start of a Verdi trilogy co-produced with Oper der Stadt Bonn which will run over the Spring seasons of 2018, 2019 and 2020.  The first opera in this trilogy will be a new production of La forza del destino. Also in the Spring season will be a revival of John Caird’s production for WNO of Don Giovanni. Completing the Spring season is a revival of Tosca conducted by Carlo Rizzi.

Murder Mystery – The Press Night Murder (Restaurant@TRP)
30 March & 1 April 2017

Theatre Royal Plymouth’s first murder mystery night takes place in Restaurant@TRP from Candlelight Theatre Company. Join the leads of the play for a three course dinner and watch the drama unfold around you as events play out. What secrets will come to the surface? Who will seize the spotlight?
