Theatre Royal Plymouth - The Little Matchgirl

Theatre Royal Plymouth - The Little Matchgirl

Adapted and directed by Emma Rice, Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Matchgirl and Other Happier Tales, comes to Theatre Royal Plymouth from Tuesday 20 – Saturday 24 February.

Inspired by Andersen’s spellbinding tale, the show also weaves The Princess and the Pea, The Emperor's New Clothes and Thumbelina with the Little Matchgirl’s devastating story.

As our destitute heroine struggles to survive, she strikes her matches to keep warm. Each match will conjure a new store, a new vision, and we will hold her hand as we tumble down the rabbit hole together.

The Little Matchgirl and Other Happier Tales is suitable for adults and brave children alike. It promises to be a truly breathtaking experience, full of music, puppetry and magic in Emma Rice’s inimitable style.

The cast of this production includes Niall Ashdown, Eddie Edmundson, Kezrena James, Guy Hughes, Karl Queensborough, Katy Owen and Elizabeth Westcott.

Tickets are priced between £15 - £29 and can be booked online at www.theatreroyal.com or by calling the Theatre Royal Plymouth Box Office on 01752 267222. Concessions are available.
